The Opportunity

Our client, an established global organisation within chemicals industry, is seeking a Regional Toxicology Specialist to join its Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs team. This newly created position will serve as the key toxicology subject-matter expert for Asia and will provide technical and strategic advice supporting product safety, new product development, regulatory compliance and ingredient defence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide toxicological and regulatory guidance to stakeholders across Asia.
  • Develop hazard and safety assessment strategies for products and ingredients.
  • Apply New Approach Methodologies, in-silico tools and read-across approaches.
  • Plan and manage toxicity, clinical safety and environmental safety studies with external partners.
  • Support new product launches through safety assessments and substance-notification strategies.
  • Assess study outcomes and recommend practical risk-management solutions.
  • Contribute technical advice to regional regulatory and business decisions.
  • Deliver toxicology training and communicate complex findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Promote continuous improvement and collaboration within the global Product Safety and Regulatory Affairs function.

Requirements

  • Degree in Toxicology, Life Sciences, Pharmacology or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in toxicology, hazard assessment, safety assessment or product safety.
  • Experience with alternative assessment methods, such as NAMs, in-silico tools and read-across.
  • Ability to design or interpret toxicity, clinical safety or environmental safety studies.
  • Experience covering product stewardship or regulatory toxicology within Asia.
  • Strong stakeholder-management, communication and project-management skills.
  • Ability to influence regional decisions and explain complex scientific concepts clearly.
  • Experience within the chemical, consumer care or pharmaceutical industry is highly preferred
