Job Description
About the opportunity
Our client is a growing technology business serving corporate customers across Singapore and Australia. They are looking for someone to lead its Singapore sales team and take an active role in winning new business.
You'll have your own accounts and deals to close, alongside responsibility for coaching a team of Account Executives and Account Managers. There's already demand coming into the business, so a big part of the job is helping the team turn those opportunities into customers, while continuing to find new ones.
The customer base is B2B, and sales targets include both bookings and the total booking value generated by corporate accounts. You'll need to understand how customers buy, what drives their spending, and where there's room to grow the relationship.
What you'll be doing
- Lead and develop the sales team. Help new joiners get up to speed, coach people through live deals, and address gaps when performance falls behind.
- Win business yourself. Personally own a portfolio of strategic corporate opportunities across Singapore and Australia, from discovery and prospecting through commercial negotiation and close.
- Improve how the team sells. Use what's working in real customer conversations to sharpen pitches, handle objections, and make better pricing decisions.
- Stay on top of the numbers. Be accountable for team targets, keep the pipeline current, and give leadership a realistic view of what's likely to close.
- Help the business grow. Spot promising customer segments and markets, and share feedback that helps leadership and product teams make better decisions.
What we're looking for
- Around 5–8 years of B2B sales experience, ideally within technology, platforms, SaaS or another fast-scaling commercial environment
- Experience directly managing, coaching or leading quota-carrying salespeople
- Experience in a technology scale-up would be useful. More importantly, you should be comfortable joining a business where some processes are still being worked out. You'll have room to improve things, but you'll also need to make decisions without waiting for a complete playbook.
- You should still enjoy selling. That means being willing to run a customer meeting, work through a difficult negotiation, or help a colleague get a stalled deal moving, not just review the forecast.
- Excellent English communication skills
- Mandarin capability is advantageous given the company's longer-term regional expansion
