Role

We are seeking an experienced and business, security, and technical savvy physical security engineer to support our sites in Singapore, China, and nearby areas.

The Global Workplace and Infrastructure (GWI) team is responsible for all company facilities, from acquisition through operation to disposition. As a member of the GWI leadership team, you will play an exciting and important role in our success.

The Regional Physical Security Engineer will be based in Singapore, and this position will report to the Regional Physical Security Technology & Solutions lead. The role requires travel up to 30%.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Regional Security Operations team in Singapore and China to design and engineer physical security systems for new construction and upgrades to existing facilities worldwide.
  • Serve as a local subject matter expert (SME) in physical security technologies, including:
    • Video Surveillance (Avigilon)
    • Access Control (C.CURE 9000, ACS)
    • Visitor Management Systems
    • IP Intercoms
    • Advanced controls like metal detectors, X-Ray systems
    • Emerging physical security technologies.
  • Develop detailed design layouts, including device placement drawings and written scopes of work for system deployments.
  • Coordinate with regional General Contractors, GIS/IT, Global Security Technology, and security operations team to ensure alignment with Applied security standards and integration requirements.
  • Draft comprehensive technical specifications for security-related RFPs, ensuring alignment with business and security objectives.
  • Provide on-site engineering oversight during construction phases, including device placement QA, conduit/pathway reviews, and vendor compliance checks.
  • Conduct evaluation and testing new security technologies to support innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Assist regional security operations team in the acceptance process for all physical security technology deployments.
  • Partner with GSOC to ensure seamless system integration, alarm routing, video analytics configuration, and operational readiness.
  • Maintain and enforce GSO security design standards, updating regional deviations and contributing to global standards of revisions.
  • Support regional security operations and SOC teams with incident investigations through technical video analysis, access control data review, and system forensics when needed.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience & Education

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the design and engineering of enterprise physical security systems.
  • Proven expertise with platforms such as Software House Access Control Systems (C.CURE 9000), Avigilon, Genetec, Lenel, and other enterprise-grade security systems.
  • Strong understanding of global security standards, system integration, and infrastructure requirements.
  • Ability to produce high-quality technical documentation, including design drawings and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of network architecture, VLAN segmentation, PoE requirements, and cybersecurity fundamentals as they apply to physical security systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction documents, electrical drawings, low-voltage schematics, and server rack layouts.
  • Experience creating Bill of Materials (BOMs) and developing accurate, scalable cost models for security projects.
  • Experience supporting multi-site, cross-country security deployments in fast‑growing or high‑tech environments.
  • Demonstrated success supporting 20-30 concurrent projects across different stages of design and execution.
  • Track record of working with Security Operations, GSOC teams, construction firms (A&E), Facilities, and IT infrastructure groups in complex environments.
  • Experience operating within high‑security, IP-sensitive facility types (e.g., semiconductor fabs, R&D labs, cleanrooms).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in cross-functional and international teams.
  • Bachelor's or associate degree in engineering, Physical Security Technology, or related field preferred. ACS

Preferred Skills

  • Experience working within or alongside global Security Design and A&E firms.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, or other security systems design software tools.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards such as UL, CE, and regional security regulations.
  • Preferred Certifications
    • PSP (Physical Security Professional - ASIS)
    • CET / NICET Level II-III (Low Voltage/Security Systems)
    • CCURE Technical Certification, Avigilon Certification
