Abbott's Infectious Disease portfolio covers molecular, immunoassay, rapid, and point-of-care diagnostics for HIV, hepatitis, respiratory, and other infectious diseases across hospital, laboratory, and community settings.

The Opportunity

As the Head of Market Access, APAC, you will lead the development and execution of regional market access strategies to optimize patient access through funding and reimbursement pathways across Asia-Pacific markets. This role serves as the regional leader for Market Access, Health Technology Assessment (HTA), and Health Policy Strategy, ensuring access considerations are embedded across portfolio planning, launch readiness, and lifecycle management. In close partnership with the Global Value, Access & Outcomes (GVA&O) organization, you will ensure that global value and access strategies, evidence plans, value communications, and market access tools are effectively regionalized and localized to meet the unique reimbursement, HTA, healthcare policy, and stakeholder requirements across APAC markets.

You will collaborate extensively with regional and country leaders across Marketing, Medical Affairs, Government Affairs, and Commercial functions to drive integrated access strategies that enhance patient access and support the successful commercialization of the portfolio.

The ideal candidate combines deep market access expertise with structured problem-solving, analytical rigor, and strategic thinking.

  • Monitor evolving HTA methodologies and evidence expectations across APAC markets and adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Facilitate sharing of HTA and reimbursement best practices across markets to strengthen regional capabilities.

Health Policy Leadership and Policy Shaping

  • Monitor and assess healthcare policy developments, reimbursement reforms, funding mechanisms, and payer landscape changes across APAC.
  • Identify opportunities to shape the policy environment and improve patient access through proactive engagement and advocacy initiatives.
  • Partner closely with Government Affairs teams to support policy-shaping activities that advance sustainable patient access and healthcare innovation.
  • Provide strategic insights on policy trends and their implications for access, reimbursement, funding, and business objectives.
  • Contribute to long-term policy and access planning for priority therapeutic areas and pipeline assets.
