What we need:

Reporting to the Head of Health and Safety, this is a people-leadership role with Country Leads / Managers of Health and Safety reporting directly into the position. The role works closely with Construction, Operations, and regional and country leadership teams to drive consistent execution of Health and Safety standards, strengthen governance and capability, and maintain regulatory compliance across construction and operational lifecycles.

This role will be based in Singapore, with regular travel across the region.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide regional Health and Safety input into project development and transition from design through construction, commissioning, and operations, ensuring key risks and controls are understood and effectively managed.

• Oversee Health and Safety risk management across construction and operational activities operating concurrently within the same perimeter, ensuring safe segregation, interface management, and coordination between construction and operations teams over multi-year build-out programs.

• Provide regional Health and Safety input into project handover from design to construction, ensuring key risks and controls identified during design are understood and managed on site.

• Directly manage Country Leads / Managers of Health and Safety, providing direction, coaching, and performance oversight to strengthen capability and accountability across the region.

• Build a strong regional Health and Safety team through talent development, training, and succession planning across country-level leadership

• Drive consistent implementation of corporate Health and Safety systems, standards, and procedures across all covered markets.

• Monitor regional Health and Safety performance, trends, and leading indicators to identify systemic risks and drive accountability at country level,and communicate key risks and improvement priorities to regional and country leadership.

• Review significant Health and Safety incidents and high-potential events across the region, ensuring robust investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and cross-country application of lessons learned.

• Provide Health and Safety input into contractor and vendor prequalification, selection, performance reviews, and ongoing assurance activities across the region.

• Engage with regional Construction and Operations leadership to manage high-risk activities, emerging risks, and significant Health and Safety issues.

• Ensure compliance with applicable Health and Safety and environmental regulatory requirements, including oversight of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management system conformance across covered markets.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and strengthen Health and Safety culture, capability, and accountability across the region.

• Support Health and Safety inputs for customer requirements, lender engagements, and external stakeholder reporting where required.

• Actively champion and implement the organization's policies on health and safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate:

1. Bachelor's degree in occupational health and safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline, with recognized professional Health and Safety qualifications or certifications.
2. 15+ years of progressive Health and Safety experience, including significant regional leadership experience across large-scale construction and/or operational environments.
3. Proven experience in Health and Safety leadership and risk management within large-scale, complex, mission-critical or high-risk environments, including data centers, pharmaceutical, chemical, or process industries.
4. Proven experience directly managing and developing Health and Safety teams across multiple sites or countries, including performance management, coaching, and capability building of direct reports.
5. Strong track record influencing senior regional leadership, Construction and Operations teams, contractors, and other stakeholders to achieve measurable Health and Safety performance improvements.
6. Strong knowledge of international Health and Safety standards, risk management principles, and experience navigating regulatory requirements across multiple Asian markets.
7. Demonstrated ability to provide Health and Safety leadership across construction, commissioning, and live operational environments, with regular travel across the region.
8. Fluent in English; additional Hindi / Thai / Indonesian / Malay language capability is an advantage.
