This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded Legal Counsel to take on a regional role supporting business operations across Asia Pacific.
The Role
Based in Singapore, you will act as a key legal business partner, providing practical and strategic legal advice to support commercial operations across the Asia Pacific region. You will work closely with regional leadership and global legal teams to ensure compliance while enabling business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice and guidance on business activities across Asia Pacific
- Draft, review and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including distributor, supplier and reseller agreements
- Support regional offices on legal updates, compliance matters and regulatory requirements
- Partner with global Corporate Legal on governance, internal policies, data privacy and licensing matters
- Provide legal support to cross-functional teams including IT, HR and Finance
- Manage and coordinate external legal counsel when required
- Support management on ad-hoc legal and compliance initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent qualification
- Approximately 5 years of relevant legal experience in a reputable law firm and/or in-house environment
- Prior in-house experience is preferred
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills
- Excellent written and spoken English and Mandarin (required for reviewing Mandarin contracts and liaising with Mandarin-speaking stakeholders)
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Commercially astute with the ability to balance business partnership and governance responsibilities
- Able to work independently and collaboratively within a regional environment
- Open to occasional travel within Asia
