Our client is a leading renewable energy company and we are looking at one more high calibre lawyer adding into the team.
SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Work on legal workstreams for large-scale renewable projects, including Wind and BESS, green industrial park, etc., from Cradle-to-Grave support.
- Draft and negotiate not only PPA/EPC/O&M contracts but also complex investment structures, including JVs, Project Finance, and M&A transactions for project acquisitions.
- Oversee high-value procurement for regional manufacturing hubs and logistics, ensuring resilience in the Asian supply chain.
- Navigate nascent regulatory frameworks for renewable energy auctions and advise on Carbon Credits and ESG reporting.
- Manage construction-related claims, grid connection disputes, and land-use complexities (e.g., Forest Land Conversion) across diverse Asian legal systems.
- Manage regional subsidiary governance, labor & employment, and implement anti-corruption (FCPA) and EHS compliance standards.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: 5-8 years PQE with a strong focus on Energy, Infrastructure. Candidates from top-tier law firms or leading MNCs (New Energy/Industrial/Tech) are preferred.
- Jurisdictional Knowledge: Familiarity with Civil Law systems (common in SEA/North Asia) is essential. Specific experience in SEA. North Asia and Central Asia is a plus.
- Business Versatility: Ability to switch between the Construction/Engineering mindset of a wind farm and the Digital/SaaS mindset of an AIoT platform.
- Deal-Making Mindset: Proven track record in handling M&A or Equity Investments within the energy sector, not just equipment sales.
- Communication: Exceptional English proficiency. Ability to communicate with regional stakeholders in relevant languages (e.g. Mandarin) will be advantageous where required for the role.
