You will partner closely with operations, engineering, and commercial teams to embed security-by-design principles while maintaining high availability and regulatory compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Regional IT Infrastructure Leadership

  • Own and manage IT infrastructure across multiple data centre sites (network, systems, storage, access control systems).
  • Ensure high availability (99.99%+) of IT systems supporting DC operations.
  • Drive standardisation and scalability of IT architecture across the region.
  • Oversee vendor management, SLAs, and technology lifecycle planning.

2. Cybersecurity Strategy & Execution

  • Define and implement a regional cybersecurity framework aligned with global standards (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS).
  • Lead threat detection, incident response, and vulnerability management programs.
  • Establish Security Operations (SecOps) capabilities including SOC integration (in-house or outsourced).
  • Conduct regular penetration testing, audits, and risk assessments.

3. Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)

  • Ensure compliance with regional regulatory requirements (e.g., MAS TRM, PDPA, GDPR where applicable).
  • Lead internal and external audits, certifications (ISO 27001, SOC 2).
  • Maintain risk registers and implement mitigation strategies across all sites.
  • Develop and enforce IT and cybersecurity policies, standards, and procedures.

4. Data Centre Security Integration

  • Collaborate with facilities and engineering teams to integrate physical and logical security.
  • Oversee systems such as access control, CCTV integration, and DCIM security layers.
  • Ensure secure customer onboarding, cross-connects, and remote hands operations.

5. Incident Management & Resilience

  • Lead regional incident response and crisis management for IT/security events.
  • Develop and test disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BCP) plans.
  • Drive post-incident reviews and continuous improvement initiatives.

6. Stakeholder & Leadership Engagement

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on cybersecurity risks and investments.
  • Engage with enterprise customers on security requirements and audits.
  • Lead and develop a regional team across multiple countries.

Key Requirements

Experience

  • 12-18+ years in IT infrastructure and cybersecurity, with at least 5+ years in leadership roles.
  • Proven experience in data centres, cloud, hyperscale, or mission-critical environments.
  • Strong exposure to multi-country/regional operations (APAC preferred).
  • Experience managing security in high-availability, regulated environments.

Technical Expertise

  • Deep knowledge of: Network security (firewalls, IDS/IPS, segmentation)
  • Cloud security (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Identity & Access Management (IAM, PAM) Endpoint and infrastructure security
  • Familiarity with DC technologies: DCIM, BMS integration, structured cabling, and OT security is a plus.

Certifications (Preferred)

  • CISSP, CISM, CISA, or equivalent
  • ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Auditor
  • Cloud security certifications (CCSP, AWS Security Specialty)

Leadership & Competencies

  • Travel: 20-30% regional travel

What Success Looks Like

  • Zero major security breaches with robust proactive controls.
  • Successful completion of audits and certifications across all sites.
