Define and execute the regional cards business strategy in alignment with overall retail banking and digital product objectives, while driving the Regional Cards P&L.
Develop and update the Regional Cards strategy on a periodic cadence, prioritizing cross-functional initiatives by synthesizing internal performance with external market, competitor, regulatory, and technological trends.
Partner with product, operations, technology, compliance, and risk teams to architect card-specific requirements and prioritize development, ensuring all initiatives fulfills rigorous regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with the Lending teams to accelerate loan book growth through card-based lending products while maintaining strict adherence to defined risk parameters.
Develop and manage relationships with key partners including Visa, Mastercard, payment processors, fintech enablers, and ecosystem players.
Align company organizational structure to achieve strategic objectives, including the identification of internal capabilities to be developed or strengthened within the cards function.
Execute the strategic planning rhythm to ensure follow-through of the functional deliverables via discussions, updates and action-tracking.
Serve as the vital bridge between the Group Head's high-level retail vision and ground-level operational reality, translating complex card milestones for all stakeholders.
Influence a high-performance culture by challenging legacy card-business assumptions and fostering cross-functional collaboration to ensure the Cards vertical remains the bank's primary engine for innovation.
Requirements:
Min. of 12 years of relevant experience working in the banking industry, with a significant focus on card-based consumer products, interchange economics, and unsecured credit risk.
A degree with good honours from a top tier university in any discipline.
Sound knowledge on Bank's lending requirements, credit documentation & processes, credit monitoring rigor and system-related requirements regarding loans, collateral management and custodian.
Profound knowledge of the card-issuing lifecycle, scheme rules (Visa/Mastercard), payment processing technology, and regulatory requirements specific to cards and digital payments.
Proven experience in analyzing and quantifying complex strategic issues specifically tied to portfolio growth and P&L optimization.
Ability to construct and deliver clear presentations to senior company executives.
Ability to empathise and collaborate with stakeholders across functions and at all levels of experience.
Ability to look beyond individual issues to identify broader themes with wider-reaching impact.
