Our client is a leading player in the media and entertainment industry, with a strong and growing presence across the Asia-Pacific region. They are seeking a Regional Financial Controller, APAC to partner the business during an exciting phase of growth and transformation.
The Role
Reporting directly to the APAC CFO, this is a high-impact regional role with broad exposure across controllership, risk management, treasury as well as supporting of due diligence. Your responsibilities include
- Oversee regional controls and compliance, redesign control frameworks, conduct onsite reviews, and ensure accurate balance sheet governance.
- Coordinate regional FX and hedging activities, manage currency buys with US Corporate Treasury, and oversee showrelated insurance programmes.
- Manage regional tax and treasury matters including cashflow forecasting, JV and minorityshareholder structures, dividend planning, and costcentre oversight.
- Support M&A activities through financial due diligence, modelling, and coordination with Big Four or internal teams depending on deal size.
- Drive digital transformation initiatives, including regional preparation and change management for the upcoming Oracle rollout.
- Oversee regional reporting, budgeting, and forecasting; lead forecast calls and provide datadriven performance insights.
- Strengthen financial reporting standards, conduct regular balance sheet reviews, and ensure crossmarket consistency.
- Lead the financial integration and onboarding of newly acquired businesses, aligning them with group policies, reporting requirements, and internal control frameworks.
Your Profile
As the successful candidate, you will possess a degree in Accountancy or ACCA with the following relevant experience
- CPA/CA or equivalent qualification preferred
- Approximately 10 years experience covering a broad finance scope.
- Experience in entertainment, media, or events is an advantage but not essential.
- MNC background preferred, ideally with exposure to USbased multinationals.
- Prior experience with Big 4 or toptier audit firms.
- Regional exposure across markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong/Macau, China, Thailand, Taiwan, Philippines, South Korea, and Japan; exposure to India is beneficial.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic, less structured environment.
- Mobile and able to travel across the region for work
- Experience with major ERPs; Oracle exposure is a plus
- Prior international exposure will be preferred
- Handson, proactive, enthusiastic, and adaptable, with strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work well across cultures and departments.
