Job Description

Provide an all round engineering support, maintaining the Client JAPAC portfolio. Have a detailed understanding of all new or current Building Services systems and contingency procedures within the buildings and ensure compliance with all contract procedures and that all Local Authority, Statutory Regulations and Codes of Practice in particular the Fire Certificate and Client/JLL safety/operational processes are followed to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.

Responsible under the Global Engineering Lead for ensuring that all activities within the portfolio are known and that they are being carried out to all relevant local, regional and global standards whilst maintaining effective and sustainable asset reliability. The role is also accountable for the correct staffing levels, competencies and development of the regional engineering teams.

Regional Engineering Lead - Role & Responsibilities:

  • Leading regional team and individual monthly/quarterly/meetings
  • Point of escalation for regional issues and follow up for resolution as appropriate
  • Integration of activities across the Engineering teams ensuing consistency of best practice and training
  • Driving the Engineering compliance programs and assurance functions to hit all targets and platform needs
  • Alignment of service delivery across the Account
  • Matrix report to Engineering Platform, Engineering Governance, Reliability Engineering, Sustainability and Critical Engineering teams
  • PPM Compliance – Ensure 95% PPM completion by month end.
  • Reactive works compliance – assist in ensuring work orders are managed within SLA limits.
  • Ensure operation of all systems within the buildings in a competent, effective and efficient manner (including HV operations).
  • Assist in Coordination and control all activities being undertaken by JLL specialist Service Providers.
  • Ensure that Specialist Service Provider worksheets are signed off that quality of work is inspected and defects/recommendations are actioned or escalated accordingly.
  • Assist with obtaining quotations and/or ordering of any parts required to maintain plant operation and/or system resilience.
  • Arrange Specialist Service Provider visits reactive calls when necessary.
  • Engineering Control Room, plant areas, workshops, stores, changing/rest areas etc. are kept to the highest level of housekeeping, specifically designated areas of responsibility.
  • Support teams in creation of project justifications, scopes of work, pricing and delivery of capital works.
  • Support local teams in ensuring correct Asset data is always correct and up to date.
  • To follow all local processes and escalation procedures.
  • Be familiarised with standard and emergency operating procedures and provide training where necessary to ensure shift engineers are familiarised.
  • Ensure all controlled switching of UPS, Generators, HV and LV switchgear either for maintenance works or recovery from failure are undertaken in a safe and responsible manner
  • Develop and maintain in conjunction with other engineering teams a 5-year capital plan (CAR) based on asset data and reliability records
  • Record, update and track to completion all risks identified that have potential to impact asset uptime

Required Skills and Experience:

  • You have direct experience in directing technical services within a critical environment, high profile environment, preferably in both self-delivered and outsourced engineering services contracts.
  • You are a seasoned leader, adept in managing diverse teams across multiple regions
  • You have experience of operational facilities management and managing services to meet KPIs
  • You have knowledge of sustainability practices innovations and energy management
  • You have understanding of building regulations, legislation compliance and best working practice
  • You have experience in financial management and budgeting, identifying cost savings / avoidance
  • You can effectively manage multiple work streams proactively resolving challenges or issues
  • You are confident in presenting information and delivering training to colleagues and peers
  • You think strategically to implement continual improvements to service delivery
  • You thrive on building and maintaining positive client relations and networks at all levels
  • You are open and have strong communication skills
  • You are highly proficient with Word and Excel and have a keen interest in technology
  • You are organised, work efficiently and can meet tight deadlines with professionalism and service focused approach
  • You are adaptable to work to requests and projects that may vary
  • You have a Technical or / and Authorised Person (preferred) qualifications
