SM2 Consulting are representing a major Facilities Services organization who are looking for a Regional Electrical Engineer with electrical design experience for one of their clients in Singapore. This client owns multiple data centres and they are looking for someone to manage their electrical design for a major Data Centre they are building. This will be on a 12-month contract and they are looking for a very strong communicator with the relevant experience. Remuneration is flexible and attractive for the right candidate.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate with the data center design team regularly to work as eyes on the ground during construction administration and design phases.
- Attend daily project meetings, design meetings, vendor meetings, and other regular sessions as needed to facilitate electrical activities for the data center project. Clients are based in different time zones and attendance at meetings may be required out of regular working hours.
- Prepare and distribute regular progress updates to help keep non-Singapore based teammates informed.
- Manage consultants to facilitate work.
- Support the construction team and contractors including all trade partners.
- Coordinate and facilitate design and construction kick-off meetings then manage ongoing design activities and milestones.
- Facilitate activities to ensure successful bench tests and factory witness tests (FWT).
- Manage multidisciplinary work, occasionally non-electrical related, as needed to support the overall data center program & the client's business objectives.
- Assist in innovating design-construction technology.
- Support a geographically and operationally diverse team consisting of engineering, operations, finance, quality, etc.
- Prepare a weekly report to be issued detailing critical items in Client's template.
- Support facilities and client teams on technical issues and support meeting attendance
- This is an onsite role and attendance at the data center project site will generally be required 5 days per week. Remaining working days can be spent working from the office or home.
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 7-10 years of Electrical Engineering experience. Previous experiences with data centre and other mission-critical infrastructure is a PLUS but not a MUST
- Strong communication and Project Management skills
- In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
