Design-First Creative Leader

We're looking for a rare, design-first creative leader-someone grounded in craft, art, and visual storytelling, with the imagination of a maker and the mindset of a modern creative operator. You bring a strong art or design background, an instinct for bold, culturally relevant ideas, and experience leading global accounts across markets, regions, and cultures.

You understand how ideas move through today's content supply chain-from concept to system, from hero to hundreds, from expression to performance. You thrive at the intersection of high creative ambition, global collaboration, and real-world execution, and you set a creative bar that others are inspired to rise to.

Overview

The Group Creative Director is a senior creative leader who combines exceptional craft, global creative vision, and operational fluency. This role leads multiple creative teams for a creative technology brand across the APAC region, and disciplines, ensuring work is both highly expressive and measurably effective. Major markets across the region are India, Korea, ANZ.

The GCD is responsible for elevating creative quality across the region, guiding teams through complexity, storytelling of proposals, and ensuring ideas scale across regional markets and modern content ecosystems. They are a trusted client partner to the regional as well as local client leads, a mentor to senior & midlevel creative talent, a steward of culture, and a driver of agency growth and new business through proactive thinking that help grow our client's business.

The GCD reports into the Global Creative Lead (based in NYC) and plays an active role in shaping departmental priorities, creative standards, and the future direction of the agency.

Creative Direction, Development & Concepting

  • Collaborates with service-line leadership to define, evolve, and protect a strong creative vision aligned to agency and client strategy.
  • Leads local and regional teams to deliver design-led, conceptually bold work across brand, performance, and platform ecosystems.
  • Ensures local and regional creative teams operate efficiently and profitably while maintaining the highest standards of craft and creative ambition.
  • Oversees creative operations to ensure timely development and execution of plans, campaigns, and projects in support of growth and profitability goals.
  • Drives planning, budgeting, work goals, measurement, and training (including creative tools) requirements to deliver scalable, high-quality creative solutions.
  • Leads teams in the development of innovative, award-winning campaigns that meet global client objectives and agency financial goals.
  • Champions creative excellence while supporting the wellbeing of the agency's people, culture, and clients.
  • Ensures all work meets or exceeds agency quality standards and creative best practices.
  • Guides local and regional teams through concepting, execution, production, and delivery in accordance with established processes and evolving content models.
  • Oversees creative choices related to messaging, visual systems, and storytelling to elevate the overall creative output.
  • Mentors Creative Directors and senior team members ensures clear standards for evaluating creative work across all levels.
  • Actively seeks new creative approaches, cultural insights, and emerging technologies to fuel innovation.
  • Collaborates across disciplines and geographies to ensure integrated, globally aligned creative solutions.
  • Expands personal and agency networks actively attracts and recruits top-tier creative talent.

Creative Team Leadership

  • Inspires and motivates teams to perform at the highest level of their abilities.
  • Fosters curiosity, experimentation, and a strong creative point-of-view across teams.
  • Provides clear, focused, and actionable feedback to continuously raise creative quality.
  • Partners with Project Management and Operations to assign work and manage resources effectively.
  • Ensures creative work meets client objectives, aligns to strategy, and delivers on time and on budget.
  • Serves as a liaison between service-line leadership and HR Business Partners on performance management, development, and talent planning.
  • Leads teams through complex, multi-stream, and multi-market projects with confidence and clarity.
  • Acts as a senior client-facing creative voice, presenting work and building trusted global relationships.
  • Maintains a highly motivated workforce and fosters behaviors that drive retention of both talent and clients.
  • Helps define and evolve creative best practices based on in-market performance, platform trends, and channel insights.
  • Demonstrates deep understanding of diverse audiences and crafts content that is highly relevant across regions and cultures.

Skills

  • Strong foundation in design, art direction, and/or copy, with a deep respect for craft and visual storytelling.
  • Proven ability to concept, execute, and scale creative across global content ecosystems and supply chains.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking paired with hands-on creative leadership.
  • Advanced understanding of digital, social, performance, and platform-driven creative models.
  • Ability to connect brand storytelling with data, media, and performance outcomes.
  • Demonstrated success leading and growing senior creative talent across disciplines and regions.
  • Strong operational fluency-balancing creativity, efficiency, and profitability.
  • Exceptional presentation and storytelling skills with senior global clients and internal leadership.
  • Recognized subject-matter expertise in areas such as dynamic creative, retail media networks, automation, or emerging platforms.
  • Proactive leadership in broader initiatives including culture, training, innovation, and thought leadership.
  • Ability to independently lead a large, complex piece of global business with minimal oversight.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in a creative agency environment.
  • Prior experience as a Senior Creative Director or equivalent senior creative leadership role.
  • Demonstrated excellence in design, art direction, writing, and conceptual thinking.
  • Proven success leading global accounts and multi-market creative teams.
  • Exceptional client partnership, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong understanding of both brand-building and performance-driven creative.
  • Deep knowledge of digital, social, and emerging media platforms and technologies.
  • Experience navigating complex production models and regional content delivery at scale.
  • Strong experience working across APAC region.
