About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Regional Collection Head to lead and optimize our collections strategy across multiple markets, with a focus on Southeast Asia. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of end-to-end collections management in consumer finance, including data-driven strategies, field operations, system design, and cross-functional collaboration. This role requires strong leadership, analytical capabilities, and the ability to drive performance in a high-growth fintech environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Develop and execute data-driven collection strategies to optimize recovery rates and reduce delinquency across markets.
- Design and implement scalable collection systems, tools, and processes to enhance efficiency.
- Monitor regional performance metrics and adjust strategies based on portfolio trends and risk analytics.
Operational Management:
- Oversee both digital (auto-dialers, SMS, chatbots) and desk/field collection operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations.
- Manage a large-scale team (1,000+ empployees) across multiple locations, including third-party agencies.
- Drive innovation in collection tactics, leveraging advanced analytics and segmentation (e.g., SQL, VBA).
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Partner with Risk, Product, and Tech teams to refine scoring models, payment solutions, and early-warning systems.
- Lead system design/optimization for collections platforms (e.g., CRM, predictive dialers).
Market Expertise:
- Adapt strategies to local regulations, cultural nuances, and economic conditions in Southeast Asian countries.
- Frequent travel to oversee operations and align with regional stakeholders.
Compliance & Risk Control:
- Ensure all practices adhere to local laws (e.g., Indonesia's OJK, Philippines SEC) and group policies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree or above from a top-tier university.
- Experience: 10+ years in collections/recovery, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing 1,000+ employees.
- Must have worked in: Large multinational corporations (e.g., banks, fintech, or fintech unicorns).
- Proven track record in unsecured digital lending (credit cards, payday loans, BNPL).
- Hands-on experience in system design, data analytics (SQL/VBA is a plus), and field agency management.
- Skills:
- Fluent English (written/spoken) for cross-border collaboration.
- Strong knowledge of Southeast Asian markets regulatory and operational landscapes.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.
