Job Description

Job Summary:

  • The Regional Account Director is responsible for the leadership, growth, and delivery of one of our key regional strategic clients.
  • With P&L ownership and direct management of multi-market client teams, the Regional Account Director is accountable for client success — ensuring retention, satisfaction, profitability, and growth. Acting as the senior point of contact for C-suite client stakeholders, this role combines strategic leadership, commercial accountability, and delivery excellence across markets.
  • The role will be expected to drive revenue growth for the group through the delivery of regional leading client outcomes and the stickiness of our client relationships through elevating the relationship it results in improved business performance.
  • This role is a critical connecting tissue in bringing together market account teams to drive governance and consistency in the client product.
  • This is a strategic role, looking after a team of 50+ delivery leads across the JAPAC markets (Japan, Australia, China, North Asia).

Required Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience leading client teams across all relevant markets (Japan, Australia, China, North Asia) with support from in market Country Heads
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical landscape
  • Proven track record in delivering organic client growth and partnerships
  • Strong client experience, with hands-on involvement in shaping strategy and execution.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire diverse teams across JAPAC
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with production, strategy, innovation, and product functions.
  • Experience navigating regional and global agency networks is an advantage.
  • Proven ability to develop effective solutions.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated with a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Capable of managing growth and meeting tight deadlines.
  • Adaptable to company culture and understanding of business drivers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems

Role KPIs

Success in this role will be measured against three core metrics:

  1. Revenue Growth: Deliver the agreed client budget with a 5% organic revenue growth stretch.
  2. Gross Profit: Full P&L ownership, ensuring margin integrity and sustainable profitability.
  3. Client Satisfaction: Achieve consistently high NPS scores and deliver 100% client retention through engagement, delivery, and innovation.

These KPIs will be driven by the below functional KPIs:

Financial Delivery

  • Ownership of Regional client P&L
  • Revenue and operating profit accurate budgeting and reforecasting processes
  • Account profitability and cost-to-serve metrics (e.g. salary-to-revenue ratio)

Growth & Performance

  • Client account expansion, new from existing pipeline growth, and pitch conversion
  • Billable utilisation and resource recoverability
  • Adoption of solutions and signature methods in partnership with clients

Client/Supplier Impact

  • Client satisfaction
  • Retention and growth of accounts
  • Strength of strategic partnerships with other teams.

Team Development

  • Team recognition through client feedback survey
  • Staff retention, engagement, and leadership effectiveness
