About the role
We are seeking a motivated R&D Lab Technician who can work independently after training on laboratory equipment, processes, and data collection methods. The role requires the ability to operate lab equipment, optimize process parameters, and support application engineers and scientists in laboratory activities.
What you'll be doing
Perform application testing using laboratory equipment such as stencil printers, dispensers, dieattach bonders, and reflow ovens.
Conduct measurements and analysis including Bond Line Thickness (BLT), X-ray void analysis, optical/microscope imaging, and die shear testing.
Support engineers and scientists in R&D experiments and material evaluations.
Operate laboratory tools independently after completing required training.
Maintain accurate and complete documentation of test results and observations.
Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
Ensure good laboratory housekeeping and adherence to safety guidelines.
What we're looking for
Nitec / Higher Nitec / Diploma in Engineering, Materials Science, Electronics, or related field.
Prior hands-on experience with laboratory equipment, microscopes, and data collection.
Ability to work independently after receiving training on equipment and processes.
Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with the engineering team.
This role is primarily lab-based and will require working in a laboratory environment.
Training will be provided for specialized equipment and testing processes.
1 year contract and convertible to permanent subject to business needs and performance
