TE's Singapore Corporate Technology Center is seeking intern(s) to support ongoing R&D initiatives through technology landscape reviews, and technical research. Under the guidance of a Subject Matter Expert (SME), the intern will help generate insights to aid R&D project decisions. The intern will do so by learning and applying best practices in his/her review of academic publications, patent databases, and should expect to communicate takeaways in dynamic discussions biweekly and expect to present to the team.
A major part of the internship involves:
Key Focus Areas
- Supporting ongoing R&D efforts through structured search, review, and summarization of relevant publications and patent databases
- Supporting the team in adopting an AIfirst approach for tools, workflows, and analysis
- Supporting CAE simulation efforts where applicable
Responsibilities
- Conduct literature and patent searches across various engineering topics; analyze, summarize, and present findings.
- Support team efforts in adopting AI-first methodologies for research workflows.
- Assist in CAE-related simulations and model evaluations.
- Profile research groups or companies with potential alignment to TE's project needs and facilitate discussions when required.
- Contribute to project execution tasks, including data analysis and logistics support; present updates to broader audiences monthly.
- (Optional for bachelor's students) Explore and scope potential Final Year Project collaborations, subject to internal and university approvals.
Qualifications
- Master's or Bachelor's candidate in Material Science or Mechanical Engineering. Course exposure to materials and process technologies preferred.
- For bachelors students, For bachelor's candidates: completion of Year 3 and interest in R&D exposure ahead of FYP.
- Preference for disciplined work in creative logical field.
- Interest in developing technical agility into potentially diverse & unfamiliar engineering domains
