Job Summary
Quantity Surveyor specializing in underground utilities construction responsible for managing project costs, budgets, and procurement. Collaborate with project teams to ensure financial control, accurate cost estimation, and contract compliance throughout project lifecycles.
Responsibilities
1. Cost Estimation & Budgeting:
- Prepare precise cost estimates for underground utilities construction projects, considering materials, labor, and associated overheads.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring financial control and cost efficiency throughout the project lifecycle.
2. Tendering& Procurement:
- Prepare and issue tender documents specific to underground utilities projects, analyze and evaluate tender submissions.
- Negotiate contracts and manage procurement processes tailored to underground utilities construction needs.
3. Cost Control & Monitoring:
- Monitor project costs and expenditures, providing regular financial reports and forecasts.
- Identify, manage, and report cost variations and claims, ensuring compliance with contractual terms.
4. Contract Administration:
- Draft, review, and manage contracts and subcontracts related to underground utilities construction.
- Resolve contractual disputes and issues, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual requirements.
5. Collaboration& Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, utility companies, and other stakeholders to ensure effective project execution.
- Provide expert advice on cost-related matters and project feasibility for underground utilities projects.
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying or related roles within underground utilities or construction projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word, to perform cost analysis and reporting
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail to manage multiple project tasks efficiently
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to liaise effectively with diverse project stakeholders
- Ability to multitask and work independently to meet project deadlines
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic project environment
Other Information
Working Hours
- Monday - Friday, 8.30 AM - 6 PM
