Job Summary
You will interpret engineering drawings to perform quantity take-offs, manage subcontractor contracts, and prepare progress payment claims. Collaborate with project teams and external stakeholders to ensure accurate cost assessments and contract administration.
Responsibilities
- Interpret engineering drawings to perform quantity take-offs and verify completed works against project specifications
- Source and evaluate quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to prepare detailed price comparisons
- Measure work progress at various project stages to prepare accurate periodic progress payment claims
- Administer subcontractor contracts to ensure compliance and effective management
- Review and assess variation cost claims submitted by subcontractors for accuracy and validity
- Evaluate and process payments to subcontractors and suppliers based on contract terms and work completed
- Collaborate with project teams to review and assess subcontractors variation works for approval
- Liaise and coordinate with Main Contractors, Consultants, Subcontractors, and Suppliers to facilitate project progress
- Coordinate with site teams to gather necessary details for final measurement and project close-out
- Perform ad hoc quantity surveying duties as assigned to support project requirements
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or equivalent
- Knowledge of contract structures and administration is advantageous
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry is preferred
- Proficient in MS Excel for data analysis and reporting
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, challenging, and pressurized environment
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude, resourcefulness, and diligence
