Job Description

Position Overview:

We are looking for a detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to manage project costing, tender preparation, quantity take-offs, supplier sourcing, procurement coordination, and cost control for construction projects. The role requires close coordination with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure projects are completed within budget and on schedule in a fast-paced working environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for construction projects.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine accurate quantities and costing.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
  • Source, evaluate, and liaise with suppliers for construction materials and equipment procurement.
  • Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors to achieve cost-effective purchasing.
  • Monitor project costs, variations, and cash flow to ensure budget control.
  • Prepare progress claims, payment certificates, and final accounts.
  • Assist in contract administration and ensure compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, consultants, and subcontractors on cost-related matters.
  • Track material usage and project expenditures to minimize cost overruns.
  • Prepare cost reports and provide financial updates to management.
  • Assess and process variation orders and additional work claims.
  • Ensure all documentation and records are properly maintained and updated.
  • Support tender submissions by compiling pricing and commercial documents.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.

Key Requirements:

  • Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum relevant experience in construction or quantity surveying works.

  • Strong knowledge of construction costing, contracts, and tender procedures.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software.

  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications accurately.

  • Good negotiation and communication skills with suppliers and subcontractors.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines.

  • Knowledge of local construction regulations and industry practices is an advantage.
