Job Summary
Lead and manage the Quantity Surveying (QS) team to deliver accurate contract documentation, tender management, and project cost control. Drive client acquisition and ensure projects meet budget and timeline requirements through effective cost analysis and vendor coordination.
Responsibilities
- Lead the QS team to prepare and manage contract documentation and tender processes to meet project requirements
- Manage tendering activities by analyzing and evaluating tenders for informed decision-making
- Develop, implement, and monitor project cost plans to control budgets effectively
- Attend site briefings prior to tendering to gather project insights and requirements
- Identify new client opportunities within assigned industry verticals to support revenue growth
- Prepare detailed cost analyses based on architectural drawings and material specifications
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor quotations for various trades to ensure competitive pricing
- Prepare tender submissions, including bills of quantities, and collaborate with management for final approval
- Coordinate final tender submissions and follow up on tender questionnaires and interviews
- Monitor project progress and maintain communication with vendors to ensure timely delivery
- Control project stages within predetermined budgets, manage progress claims, quotations, and variation order submissions
- Prepare final accounts and maintain document control for project records
- Measure and value contract variations to agree on interim payments and final accounts
- Establish and maintain business contacts and information channels to gather and share market and client intelligence with account teams
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
- Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, either in the interior design (ID) or construction industry
- Ability to guide and develop less experienced team members
- Experience working locally in the construction industry is advantageous
- Familiarity with tender portals is beneficial
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge of interior design projects including government, commercial, and retail sectors
