Quantity Surveyor

Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our team, focusing primarily on public sector projects within the environmental engineering industry, with a key emphasis on water and waste treatment and management.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects, ensuring budget adherence from planning to completion

• Manage and review contracts, amendments, and variations to ensure compliance with public sector guidelines and regulatory frameworks

• Assist in the preparation and evaluation of tender documents, including bill of quantities, project specifications, and procurement strategies.

• Collaborate with clients, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to resolve any financial or contractual issues and ensure effective communication across all project phases.

• Prepare detailed project budgeting and costing reports to monitor financial performance and support decision-making

• Administer project documentation including preparing interim valuations, pricing and agreeing on contract variations, updating claim submissions, and preparing final accounts

• Preparation of comprehensive tender documents, detailed bill of quantities, and the development of the project's overall budget

Requirement:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or related fields

• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Quantity Surveying, prior experience working on environmental infrastructure projects is an added advantage

• Knowledge of contract law, and familiarity with Security of Payment Act (SOPA)
