Job Summary
You will prepare and manage tender quotations, assess variation orders, and support contract administration for Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) projects. Collaborate with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to ensure accurate cost analysis and timely claims processing, driving project financial control and delivery.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed tender quotations by performing quantity take-offs, sourcing materials and subcontractors, and calculating costs to support competitive bidding
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with consultants, quantity surveyors, architects, developers, and contractors to facilitate certification of payment claims
- Analyze costs to prepare accurate tender Bills of Quantities (BQ) that align with project requirements
- Assess and identify variation order (VO) work across all subcontract packages to ensure proper scope and cost control
- Support measurement and pricing activities for Mechanical/Electrical contract VO claims to validate cost adjustments
- Process monthly progress claims and final claims to ensure timely and accurate payment cycles
- Manage contracts administration and maintain comprehensive project documentation to support audit and compliance requirements
- Perform measurement and re-measurement for subcontract works to verify quantities and costs
- Develop cost estimations and budgetary forecasts for Mechanical and Electrical services to guide project financial planning
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations, ensuring cost-effective procurement decisions
- Organize and maintain relevant project documentation in an orderly and accessible manner to support project tracking and reporting
Required competencies and certifications
- Professional Certificate, NITEC, Diploma, or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of experience in the M&E construction industry, including projects such as shopping complexes, hotels, condominiums, and office buildings
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate costs and contract variations effectively
- Resourcefulness and independence to manage responsibilities in a fast-paced, challenging environment
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to support documentation and reporting
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and meet deadlines, including willingness to work overtime as required
Other Information
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Saturday, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm (5.5 days per week, alternate Saturdays)
- Salary commensurate with experience
