Role Overview
The Quantity Surveyor supports the Projects Manager by managing all cost-related aspects of projects-from pre-sales estimation to post-award cost control-ensuring profitability and financial discipline.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BQ) based on project requirements
- Support Sales team with accurate pricing during tender/quotation stage
- Work closely with Projects Executive to align costing with execution plan
- Source quotations from suppliers and subcontractors
- Monitor project budgets, cost usage, and forecast final costs
- Track variations, VO (Variation Orders), and cost changes
- Provide cost control recommendations to Projects Manager
- Identify value engineering and cost-saving opportunities
- Maintain cost database and benchmarking for future projects
Requirements
- Diploma / Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field
- 2-5 years experience in QS, costing, or estimation
- Strong knowledge of materials, pricing, and project costing
- High proficiency in Excel and cost analysis
