Job Description:

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing all cost and contractual aspects of construction and service projects - from tendering to project completion. The role ensures that projects are delivered within budget, compliant with contract terms, and financially viable for the company.

The QS prepares cost estimates, monitors project expenditures, manages variations and claims, and liaises with clients, subcontractors, and project teams to achieve cost efficiency and value for money.

Job Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation & Budgeting - Prepare detailed cost plans, budgets, and Bills of Quantities.

Tendering & Procurement - Manage tender processes, evaluate quotations, and recommend suppliers/ subcontractors.

Contract Administration - Prepare progress claims, variation orders, and payment certifications in line with contract requirements.

Cost Control & Financial Reporting - Monitor project costs, forecast expenditures, and prepare monthly cost reports.

Risk & Value Management - Identify cost risks, propose cost-saving measures, and support value engineering initiatives.

Stakeholder Coordination - Communicate with clients, consultants, and internal project teams to ensure alignment on commercial matters.

Documentation & Compliance - Maintain accurate cost records and ensure compliance with company policies and contractual obligations.

Job Requirements:

Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Professional certifications (advantageous but not mandatory):

SISV (Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers)

Typically 3-5 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying, cost management, or contract administration.

Experience in construction, M&Eprojects especially in ACMV.

Proven track record in tendering, cost control, progress claims, and variation management.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and QS/costing software (e.g., CostX, Cubit, Bluebeam).

Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules.
