Job Description
WE'RE HIRING:
ICF International is looking for a detail-oriented Commercial Executive with experience in MEP estimation, tendering, quantity surveying or commercial support.
The successful candidate will support the preparation of competitive and technically compliant cost estimates for marine interior, shipbuilding and vessel refurbishment projects.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review tender documents, MEP specifications, drawings, schematics and equipment schedules.
- Determine the mechanical, electrical and plumbing scope and identify missing information, technical conflicts, scope gaps and commercial risks.
- Prepare quantity take-offs, Bills of Quantities and detailed estimates for materials, equipment, labour, installation, testing and commissioning.
- Review MEP requirements for cabins, toilets, public areas, galleys, offices and crew accommodation.
- Coordinate MEP requirements with ceilings, partitions, furniture, interior finishes and equipment.
- Prepare and issue requests for quotation to suppliers and subcontractors.
- Evaluate quotations based on technical compliance, pricing, lead time, delivery and commercial terms.
- Prepare commercial comparison tables and recommend suitable suppliers or subcontractors.
- Prepare tender pricing summaries, assumptions, exclusions and qualifications.
- Support tender clarifications, proposal revisions and commercial negotiations.
- Provide a complete commercial and technical handover to Procurement, Operations and the project team following project award.
- Monitor MEP costs against the approved project budget and prepare cost estimates for variations and additional works.
- Maintain supplier pricing, cost records and historical project data.
- Compare estimated and actual project costs to improve the accuracy of future quotations.
- Maintain the confidentiality of company pricing and commercial information.
REQUIREMENT
- Diploma or bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in MEP estimation, tendering, quantity surveying or commercial support.
- Experience in marine, offshore, shipbuilding, ship repair or marine interior fit-out projects is strongly preferred.
- Good understanding of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems, materials, equipment and installation methods.
- Ability to interpret MEP drawings, schematics, specifications and equipment schedules.
- Proficiency in quantity take-off, cost estimation and pricing analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of PlanSwift, AutoCAD, ERP or other estimating software will be an advantage.
- Strong analytical, numerical, communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tenders and work effectively within tight deadlines.
