Quantity Surveyor
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Contract / Tender Phase:
- Review and study Architectural drawings to understand project scope
- Conduct quantity take-offs, measurements, and cost estimates for tender submissions
- Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
- Source and call for quotations from subcontractors and suppliers
- Evaluate tenders from contractors and negotiate where appropriate
- Prepare tender pricing and ensure timely tender submission
- Assist in study and analysis of elemental costs
Post-Contract / Project Execution:
- Manage progress claims, variation works, and final account preparation
- Assess payments and variation works to clients and subcontractors
- Monitor project costs and control overruns to ensure project objectives are achieved
- Conduct site meetings, site verification, and maintain proper documentation
- Communicate effectively with clients, management, and subcontractors
- Track progression of both main contract and sub-contracts
- Maintain cost control and proper documentation throughout project lifecycle
General:
- Liaise with Reporting Superior and Project Managers on project costing matters
- Perform all duties in accordance with company policies and procedures
- Any other ad-hoc tasks assigned by superior
Requirements
Education:
- Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, Engineering, or related field
Experience:
- Minimum 2-3 years of relevant QS experience in Singapore's Building and Construction Industry preferred
- Experience in Building / LTA projects or similar scale and complexity is advantageous
- Tender experience is highly preferred
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Advantage: Proficient in AutoCAD with ability to learn new specialist software
- Strong knowledge of facade and architectural works is preferable
