Job Summary
You will lead cost analysis and estimation for carpentry and related trades within interior fit-out projects, managing contracts and budgets to drive project success. You will prepare tender and contract documents, manage subcontractor relations, and resolve contractual claims to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and estimate costs for carpentry works and other trades within interior fit-out projects to support accurate budgeting and contract administration
- Monitor project budgets and track expenditures to ensure financial control and alignment with project goals
- Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities, by performing quantity take-offs, sourcing materials, and estimating costs to facilitate competitive tendering
- Draft letters of award to subcontractors and verify claims to maintain cost control and contractual compliance
- Identify and prepare variation orders for projects to address scope changes and maintain project profitability
- Obtain and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations to support cost-effective procurement decisions
- Source new vendors and conduct cost comparisons to optimize supplier selection and project costs
- Ensure contract quantities and variation orders are accurately updated for awarded projects and perform cost-benefit analyses to inform decision-making
- Manage the resolution of contractual claims across all project stages, from pre-tender to post-contract, to mitigate risks and protect company interests
- Attend site surveys as required to assess project conditions and support accurate cost estimations
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support project and organizational objectives
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Knowledge and passion for interior fit-out and builders work in retail and commercial environments, with 3 to 5 years of experience in carpentry or retail fit-out projects
- Experience delivering projects with demonstrated ability to manage challenges related to time, cost, and quality control, and to exceed expectations
- Proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with MEP systems and Bluebeam software is advantageous
- Understanding of the Gebiz tender process
