Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets for piling and foundation works.
  • Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
  • Prepare tender submissions, cost analyses, and commercial proposals.
  • Measure and value piling works, including bored piles, driven piles, diaphragm walls, barrettes, secant piles, and other foundation systems.
  • Prepare quantity take-offs from construction drawings and specifications.
  • Monitor project costs and ensure expenditure remains within the approved budget.
  • Prepare and submit monthly progress claims and payment applications.
  • Evaluate subcontractor claims and certify payments based on completed work.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and manage subcontract agreements and purchase orders.
  • Assess and manage variations, additional works, and change orders in accordance with the contract.
  • Maintain records of project costs, variations, claims, and contractual correspondence.
  • Assist in the preparation and evaluation of Extension of Time (EOT) and loss-and-expense claims.
  • Monitor material procurement costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.
  • Coordinate with the Project Manager, Site Engineers, Procurement Team, and Finance Department on commercial matters.
  • Attend project meetings and provide commercial and cost reports to management.
  • Prepare monthly cost reports, cash flow forecasts, and budget updates.
  • Ensure all commercial documentation complies with contract conditions and company procedures.
  • Review supplier and subcontractor quotations to ensure value for money.
  • Assist in resolving contractual disputes and commercial issues.
  • Prepare final accounts with clients and subcontractors upon project completion.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, contractual requirements, and relevant industry standards.

Key Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of quantity surveying principles and construction contracts.
  • Experience in piling and foundation engineering projects.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Quantities (BOQ).
  • Knowledge of standard forms of contract (e.g., FIDIC, PSSCOC, or other applicable contracts).
  • Strong understanding of cost estimation, budgeting, valuation, and contract administration.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, quantity surveying software, and cost management systems.
  • Strong communication and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams.

    Requirements:
  • . Minimum 7 years'piling civil site experience
  • . Experience in LTA project will be an added advantage
  • . Able to work under fast paced environment
  • . Degree in Civil Engineering
