Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor with strong experience in contract administration and Variation Order (VO) management. The role will focus on protecting the company's commercial interests, managing contractual matters, evaluating claims, and negotiating variations to maximize project value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer construction contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligations
  • Review tender and contract documents, identify commercial risks, and provide recommendations
  • Prepare, submit, and negotiate Variation Orders (VOs) with clients and consultants
  • Evaluate and respond to subcontractor VO submissions and claims
  • Lead negotiations to secure entitlement for additional costs and time extensions
  • Prepare contractual correspondence including notices, claims, and rebuttals
  • Monitor project changes and ensure proper documentation for claims and VOs
  • Manage cost impact assessments arising from design changes and site instructions
  • Track and maintain VO logs, claims registers, and commercial records
  • Prepare interim payment claims and evaluate payment certifications
  • Support dispute resolution and assist in adjudication or arbitration when required
  • Advise project team on contractual rights and obligations
  • Participate in commercial meetings with clients, consultants, and subcontractors

Requirements

  • Diploma / Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in construction or engineering projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts and cost control principles
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within project teams
  • Preferably with experience in [building / civil / infrastructure / M&E] projects
  • Good to have knowledge of local construction regulations and standards
