Quantity Surveyor cum Drafter

Company Overview

Alleviative Engineering Pte. Ltd. is a Singapore-based M&E contractor specialising in ACMV, electrical, fire protection, plumbing, and general building works.

We undertake installation, upgrading, maintenance, tender, and A&A projects, including works in live environments such as commercial buildings, shopping malls, industrial facilities, and operational premises. Our focus is on practical execution, cost-effective delivery, accurate costing, and reliable project completion.

Job Summary

We are looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor cum Drafter to support both tender and project works.

The primary focus of this role will be quantity take-off, costing support, and drafting. The candidate will also be required to support other M&E trades, including electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and general building works, depending on project requirements.

The candidate must be accurate, deadline-driven, flexible, and able to work in a contractor environment where scope may range from small maintenance works to larger multi-trade MEP projects.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare ACMV, and Mechanical quantity take-off from tender drawings, construction drawings, layouts, schematics, and specifications
  • Perform ACMV drafting works, including layout drawings, shop drawings, as-built drawings, and coordination drawings
  • Review tender documents, drawings, specifications, addenda, and scope requirements
  • Prepare and update BOQ, cost breakdowns, tender schedules, and project quantity records
  • Assist in pricing, quotation preparation, tender submission, and cost comparison
  • Support quantity take-off for secondary trades, including electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and general building works
  • Check drawings and quantities carefully to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors for quotations, pricing, technical information, and cost comparison
  • Support project teams with site measurement, progress claims, variation orders, and final account documentation
  • Prepare claim supporting documents such as marked-up drawings, quantity breakdowns, progress photos, and work done records
  • Coordinate with project managers, site teams, admin, suppliers, and subcontractors to obtain required information
  • Maintain proper documentation for tender, project, claim, VO, and handover records
  • Track deadlines and ensure submissions are completed on time
  • Assist with as-built documentation and project close-out submissions where required

Requirements

  • Experience in quantity surveying, costing, drafting, or M&E project support
  • Strong understanding of ACMV systems, including ducting, FCU / AHU / VRV works, piping, insulation, supports, controls, and accessories
  • Able to read and interpret M&E drawings, tender documents, specifications, and technical schedules
  • Able to perform accurate quantity take-off for ACMV works
  • Basic understanding of other M&E trades such as electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and fire alarm systems
  • Able to prepare BOQ, costing sheets, quotations, tender schedules, claims, and VO documentation
  • Proficient in using AutoCAD for measurement, drafting, drawing amendments, and as-built updates
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel for quantity take-off, costing, comparison, and reporting
  • Responsible, careful, and able to work with accuracy
  • Able to meet deadlines and manage multiple tender/project tasks at the same time
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing project requirements
  • Able to work independently while coordinating with internal and external parties

Preferred Experience

  • Experience working in an M&E contractor or subcontractor environment
  • Experience in ACMV tender take-off and shop drawing preparation
  • Experience supporting both tender and live project works
  • Experience in A&A, fit-out, commercial, industrial, or live environment projects
  • Knowledge of progress claims, variation orders, and final account preparation

Other Information

This is a tender cum project support role. The candidate must be comfortable handling both office-based QS/drafting works and project-related coordination i.e. on-site when required.
