Job Description

SqSave is a quantitative, data-driven digital investment platform built by Pivot Fintech. Our investment process is fully algorithmic, grounded in evidence-based portfolio construction, and supported by proprietary fund accounting systems. We are expanding our team to include a Quantitative Investment Analyst who also qualifies to be registered as an Appointed Representative under the Securities and Futures Act (SFA).

Role Overview

This role combines quantitative investment responsibilities with regulatory duties as an Appointed Representative. You should have strong foundations in investment analytics and the ability to understand and validate models used in automated portfolio management.

After the initial phase of training and immersing in our algorithmic and operational stack, the role is expected to require 4-6 hours per week, depending on ongoing regulatory and oversight needs.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quantitative Investment Analysis

  • Understand, review, and validate our asset allocation algorithms and investment models.
  • Support ongoing research into risk modelling, portfolio optimisation, rebalancing logic, and factor-based approaches.
  • Analyse portfolio performance and assist in preparing internal performance attribution summaries.
  • Monitor model outputs, identify anomalies, and work with engineering to resolve issues.

2. Oversight & Duties as an Appointed Representative

  • Carry out responsibilities in line with the SFA, MAS requirements, and Pivot Fintech's compliance framework.
  • Assist in ensuring that investment activities and portfolio operations comply with regulatory expectations.
  • Serve as an oversight layer for model execution, portfolio actions, and investor-facing processes.
  • Participate in periodic internal and external audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.

3. Documentation & Audit-Ready Governance

  • Maintain high-quality records of model logic, parameter settings, and risk considerations.
  • Document investment processes, controls, and governance steps for audit and regulatory submissions.
  • Prepare structured reports for management, auditors, and MAS where required.

Requirements

Professional Requirements (for Appointed Representative status)

  • Meets MAS Fit and Proper criteria.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., CMFAS Modules such as M1A, M5, M6, M6A, or readiness to complete them as necessary).
  • Strong ethical standards, sound judgment, and comfort with fiduciary responsibilities.

Technical & Analytical Skills

  • Competence in quantitative investment techniques, asset allocation frameworks, and risk modelling.
  • Familiarity with portfolio construction (e.g., mean-variance, risk parity, factor-based methods).
  • Experience with data analysis using Python, Excel, or similar tools (Python proficiency is a strong advantage).
  • Understanding of fund accounting basics, investment operations, and performance calculations.
