Since 2014, as part of our evolution, our platform has expanded from Early Stage to Growth Stage, Web3 (Ocular), Credit (Onyx) and Listed Equities (Orbit) investment strategies.

Public Equity Strategy(Orbit) was established to complement our private market investments, leveraging deep fundamental insights, regional expertise, and data-driven decision-making across public markets.

Our team

Our Investment, Portfolio Success and Corporate teams work together to drive greater value creation for our portfolio companies. We have decision makers on the ground in all the markets we invest in, which ensures close collaboration, effective deal sourcing as well as the ability to act decisively when opportunities arise.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly analytical and intellectually curious Quantitative Finance Analyst

(6-month contract) to join our newly established Public Equity Strategy team, with the potential for conversion to a permanent role, subject to business requirements and individual performance.

This role will focus on developing, testing, and maintaining quantitative models and analytical frameworks to support public equity investment decisions across Asian and global markets.

You will work closely with public equity investors, senior investment professionals, and data partners to translate investment hypotheses into robust quantitative analysis. This is a hands-on role suited for candidates who enjoy combining financial theory, statistics, and programming with real-world investment applications.

Your Role & Responsibilities:

1) Quantitative Research & Modeling

  • Design, build, and maintain quantitative models for equity screening, factor analysis, portfolio construction, and risk management
  • Research and evaluate systematic investment signals (e.g. value, quality, momentum, growth, volatility, alternative data)
  • Conduct back-testing, scenario analysis, and stress testing to assess strategy robustness

2) Investment & Portfolio Analytics

  • Support public equity portfolio construction and optimization, including exposure analysis, factor attribution, and performance measurement
  • Develop tools and dashboards to monitor portfolio risk, returns, and market dynamics
  • Perform market and security-level analysis to support fundamental investment theses

3) Data & Infrastructure

  • Source, clean, and manage large scale financial datasets (market data, fundamentals, macroeconomic indicators, alternative data)
  • Improve data pipelines and research infrastructure to ensure scalability and reproducibility
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to integrate new data sources and analytics capabilities

4) Collaboration & Communication

  • Partner closely with public equity investors to translate investment ideas into quantitative frameworks
  • Clearly communicate analytical findings, assumptions, and limitations to non-technical stakeholders
  • Contribute to the development of the team's investment philosophy, research standards, and best practices

What we look for:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a quantitative discipline such as Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Prior internship or relevant experience in public equity investing, asset management, hedge funds, or quantitative research is a strong advantage
  • Solid grounding in statistics, probability, linear algebra, and financial markets
  • Strong proficiency in data analysis and modeling. Familiar with SQL and Python libraries, such as pandas, numpy, scipy, scikit-learn, etc.
  • Hands-on experience working with equity market data, factor datasets, and corporate fundamentals
  • Familiarity with portfolio construction, optimization, and risk model
  • Experience with cloud-based data environments
  • Exposure to alternative data and/or machine learning techniques in an investment or research context is a plus
  • Genuine interest in public equity markets, especially Asian equities and macroeconomic drivers
  • Ability to think critically about investment signals, model assumptions, and real-world implementation constraints
  • Comfortable moving between quantitative analysis and fundamental investment intuition
  • Strong analytical rigor with high attention to detail
  • Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn from first principles
  • Ability to operate effectively in an unstructured, fast-evolving environment
  • Ownership mindset with the drive to build, iterate, and improve research frameworks
  • Clear communicator who can explain quantitative insights, trade-offs, and limitations to non-technical stakeholders
  • Only Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents will be considered due to visa restrictions

What You Will Gain:

  • Opportunity to be part of a founding team building a new public equity strategy from the ground up
  • Direct exposure to senior investors and decision-making processes
  • Collaborative, high-performance culture with a long-term investment mindset
