Job Purpose:
To ensure that all traded products meet contractual specifications, regulatory requirements, and company quality standards by overseeing inspection, testing, and quality verification processes throughout the trading value chain (pre-loading, loading, discharge, and post-delivery).
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Assurance & Compliance
. Review and verify product specifications in sales & purchase contracts.
. Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions
. Monitor adherence to local and international regulatory requirements.
2. Cargo Inspection & Testing
. Coordinate with independent surveyors and laboratories for sampling and testing.
. Witness cargo sampling, blending, and loading/discharge operations when required.
. Validate Certificate of Quality (COQ), Certificate of Quantity (COQ), and lab reports.
. Investigate any quality discrepancy or off-spec findings.
3. Operational Coordination
. Work closely with Trading, Operations & Shipping, and Counterparty to ensure smooth cargo execution.
. Support pre-shipment and post-discharge quality verification.
4. Claims & Dispute Support
. Assist in handling quality-related claims and dispute resolution.
. Conduct root cause analysis for quality issues.
. Prepare technical reports to support commercial negotiations.
5. Risk Management
. Identify potential quality risks in trading transactions.
. Ensure proper documentation and record keeping for audit and compliance purposes.
. Recommend mitigation strategies to minimize financial exposure due to quality disputes.
