Job Description

Role Description

Helps ensure that software, systems, and digital products work as intended, meet requirements, and provide a reliable user experience. Works with product managers, developers, designers, operations teams, and users to understand expected behavior, identify risks, and plan suitable quality checks throughout development and release.

A Quality Assurance Analyst reviews requirements, prepares test plans and test cases, performs manual or exploratory testing, records defects, and verifies fixes. A QA Automation Engineer develops and maintains automated tests and supporting tools to check applications, APIs, and workflows repeatedly and efficiently. A Quality Engineering Manager sets quality practices and priorities, leads quality teams, coordinates testing across projects, and works with engineering and product leaders to improve the overall development and release process.

Testing may include functional, regression, integration, usability, compatibility, performance, and end-to-end checks. Investigates unexpected behavior by reproducing issues, reviewing logs and test data, and documenting clear steps for resolution. Collaborates with developers to confirm defects are fixed and checks that changes do not introduce new problems. May contribute to test environments, test data, release readiness reviews, and quality metrics.

Promotes quality throughout the product lifecycle by encouraging early testing, clear acceptance criteria, risk-based test planning, and consistent defect tracking. Reviews patterns in defects and production incidents to identify process improvements. Manager-level roles may define quality standards, select testing tools, allocate resources, oversee automation strategy, and report on product quality and release risks.
