Key Responsibilities
Quantity Surveying (QS) Duties:
- Prepare quotations, cost estimates, and tender submissions
- Measure quantities and prepare progress claims/payment claims
- Monitor project costs, budgets, and variation orders (VO)
- Assist in contract administration and documentation
- Follow up on the tender projects
Administrative & Logistics Coordination Duties:
- Handle general administrative work and maintain proper documentation
- Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Support procurement and follow up on material orders
- Coordinate shipment schedules from China to Singapore (steel/rebar materials)
- Liaise with suppliers, freight forwarders, and logistics teams
- Track delivery timelines and ensure materials arrive on schedule
- Coordinate with the site team for delivery planning and unloading arrangements
- Resolve delivery issues, delays, or documentation discrepancies
Communication & Liaison:
- Liaise with China factories and suppliers on production progress and delivery
- Communicate with Chinese companies in Singapore on project matters
- Provide translation support (English ↔ Chinese) when required
Requirements
- Diploma / Degree in Quantity Surveying, Building, or related field
- Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience in the construction industry
- Strong understanding of cost control and contract administration
- Experience in logistics coordination or material delivery tracking preferred
- Bilingual in English and Mandarin (spoken & written) to liaise with Chinese suppliers
- Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel)
- Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks
Preferred Background
- Experience in the structural steel/rebar processing industry
- Familiar with import/export or construction material logistics
- Experience in VO / EOT documentation is an advantage
