The role involves leading and coordinating daily lab operations and projects to meet customer and business goals. Key responsibilities include maintaining ISO certifications, ensuring regulatory compliance, managing quality processes like Certificates of Analysis, and overseeing maintenance program transfers. The role also supports new product formulation, troubleshooting, and communication with external partners. Innovation, safety adherence, cost management, equipment upgrades, staff training, and continuous process improvement are also central to this position.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with the lab team, as well as other key stakeholders, to collaboratively prioritize day-to-day laboratory tasks including analytical testing for CoA for customers, to meet their needs and deadlines while supporting overall business objectives.
Lead or participate in projects that align with and contribute to the overall objectives of laboratory operations.
Ensure the maintenance and continuous improvement of ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, and ISO17025 management systems within the laboratory.
Implement Control Plans and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for laboratory processes to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Lead internal process for preparation of Certificate of Analysis with system which have escalation criteria set appropriately.
Design and lead management process for Analytical Service Business in accordance with ISO17025.
Ensure the timely transfer of the Dip tube preventive maintenance program management to the Ave8 operation steam.
Provide laboratory support for small-scale blending of new formulations to facilitate the growth of new business initiatives and improvement investigation.
Provide effective troubleshooting support and incident management to ensure minimal disruptions.
Act as the primary liaison between the laboratory and external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers, to address technical and materials-related matters.
Drive the implementations of innovative or up-to-date analytical methods to stay at the forefront of technology.
Adhere to and enforce all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) rules and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Lead the development, review, and enhancement of laboratory operational planning and procedures to optimize productivity and minimize operational costs.
Manage laboratory operating expenses to optimize resource allocation and cost-effectiveness.
Manage the capital purchase process for laboratory metrology and equipment upgrades to align with industry standards and technological advancements.
Lead or actively participate in safety, reliability, and productivity-related projects within the laboratory's scope.
Provide comprehensive training to laboratory staff to maintain their skill set and foster flexibility within the team.
Undertake any other tasks as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the laboratory's success.
MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL (FORMAL TRAINING, LANGUAGES, ABILITIES) AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree or more in chemistry, chemical engineering, or material engineering
Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, of which 5 years of supervisory experience around quality control or chemical analysis
