Job Description

Position Overview

The QA/QC Manager is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of the Quality Management System (QMS) for the company's oil & gas projects and corporate operations. This role ensures that all engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities meet contractual, regulatory, and international standards, while driving continuous improvement across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Management & Compliance

  • Establish and maintain the company's QMS in line with ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and industry-specific standards (API, ASME, ASTM, IACS, etc.).
  • Ensure QA/QC requirements are fully integrated into EPC, FPSO, and offshore project execution.
  • Manage preparation, review, and approval of QA/QC documentation including ITPs, QCPs, method statements, and project quality plans.
  • Coordinate with classification societies, regulatory authorities, and clients on quality-related matters.

Quality Assurance (QA)

  • Lead quality planning and risk assessments during bid, design, and project execution stages.
  • Conduct internal and supplier audits to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor subcontractors and vendors to ensure materials, fabrication, and equipment meet project specifications.
  • Drive lessons-learned sessions and ensure corrective & preventive actions (CAPA) are implemented effectively.

Quality Control (QC)

  • Supervise inspection, testing, and verification activities across engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction, and commissioning phases.
  • Review and approve quality reports, material certificates, welding records, NDT results, and other QC documentation.
  • Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and root cause analysis to prevent recurrence.
  • Oversee final dossier and turnover documentation for project handover.

Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead and mentor QA/QC engineers, inspectors, and coordinators across corporate HQ and project sites.
  • Act as the primary contact point with clients, classification societies, and third-party inspectors.
  • Provide regular QA/QC performance reports to senior management and project leadership.
  • Promote a strong quality culture throughout the company and projects.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10-12 years of QA/QC experience in the oil & gas industry, with at least 5 years in a managerial role.
  • Strong knowledge of EPC project quality requirements, FPSO topsides and hull construction, and offshore classification standards.
  • Hands-on experience with audits, inspections, welding procedures, material control, and NDT.
  • Familiarity with international codes and standards (ASME, API, AWS, ISO, IACS).
  • Excellent leadership, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Professional certifications such as ISO Lead Auditor, ASQ CQA, Six Sigma, or CSWIP/NACE are an advantage.
