About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Performance QA Engineer to join a leading global firm in the financial technology space. This position focuses on ensuring the stability, scalability, and performance of complex, low‑latency trading and data platforms. You will work on high‑performance, real‑time systems in an agile environment, conducting deep performance analysis, identifying bottlenecks, and driving performance‑optimized design. In this role, you will contribute to the enhancement of performance testing frameworks, collaborate closely with engineering and architecture teams, and promote best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct deep performance testing and analysis on low‑latency, real‑time systems
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve performance bottlenecks across the technology stack
- Explore, evaluate, and recommend performance testing tools, frameworks, and methodologies
- Partner with architecture and engineering teams to advise on performance‑optimized system design
- Perform system‑level analysis covering throughput, latency, concurrency, scalability, and failover
- Review existing architecture and drive performance‑focused improvements
- Communicate findings and insights to technical stakeholders, business teams, and leadership
- Collaborate with developers to validate fixes and re‑test performance metrics
- Promote and contribute to a performance‑driven engineering mindset across teams
- Provide structured, insightful feedback on issues, risks, and improvement opportunities
Must Have Skills
- Proven experience working with low‑latency, high‑throughput, high‑availability, real‑time, fault‑tolerant systems
- 10+ years of relevant experience in performance engineering
- Hands‑on Java coding experience
- Strong understanding of performance engineering fundamentals and system design for distributed systems
- Expertise with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, Locust, k6)
- Proficiency with profiling/monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, New Relic, AppDynamics)
- Experience with DevOps practices and tooling (CI/CD, Docker, pipelines, scripting)
- Experience with Kafka or similar event‑streaming platforms
- Comfortable working with cloud and containerized environments (e.g., Cloud, Kubernetes)
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in Capital Markets or trading systems
- Familiarity with FIX protocol
