We're Hiring: Purchaser (Tanker Vessels)!
We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Purchaser specializing in tanker vessels to join our dynamic team in Singapore. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills and a solid understanding of procurement processes within the maritime industry.

Role: Purchaser (Tanker Vessels)
Salary: S$4,600 to S$6,000 monthly
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement of spare parts, stores, lubricants, and services for assigned tanker vessels (Crude, Product, Chemical or LPG).
- Source, evaluate, and negotiate with approved marine suppliers globally to ensure cost competitiveness and timely delivery.
- Review and process purchase requisitions raised by vessels, ensuring technical specifications and maker references are accurate.
- Obtain competitive quotations, conduct commercial comparisons, and prepare purchase orders in accordance with company procurement procedures.
- Liaise closely with Technical Superintendents and vessel crew to clarify specifications and urgency of requirements.
- Coordinate with logistics providers to ensure timely shipment and delivery to ports worldwide, considering trading routes of tankers.
- Monitor delivery status and follow up on outstanding orders to prevent operational downtime.
- Maintain and update supplier database, pricing benchmarks, and procurement records within the purchasing system (e.g., AMOS, ShipServ, or similar).
- Ensure compliance with company policies, ISM, ISPS, OCIMF and vetting requirements relevant to tanker operations.
- Analyze procurement trends and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality standards.
Requirements
- Diploma in Maritime Studies, Marine Engineering, Supply Chain, or related discipline.
- Minimum 2–5 years of purchasing experience in shipping, preferably handling tanker vessels.
- Strong knowledge of marine spare parts, technical consumables, and tanker-specific equipment (cargo pumps, IG systems, etc.).
- Good negotiation skills with commercial awareness and ability to manage multiple vessels simultaneously.
- Familiarity with marine procurement software (e.g., AMOS, ShipServ) and strong communication skills in English.
