Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Publishing Production Manager to oversee the end-to-end production process of print and digital publishing projects. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, excellent communication abilities, and proven experience managing multiple titles across tight timelines while maintaining high production quality.

This role requires close collaboration with editorial teams, designers, printers, and external vendors to ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full publishing production workflow from manuscript handover to final print and digital delivery.
  • Coordinate with editorial, design, and prepress teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules to meet strict deadlines.
  • Liaise with printers and external vendors to manage quotations, specifications, and delivery timelines. • Review files for technical accuracy and production readiness
  • Monitor print quality, colour standards, and finishing requirements.
  • Track project costs and ensure production stays within budget.
  • Identify and resolve production issues proactively to avoid delays.
  • Maintain documentation and production records for all projects.
  • Continuously improve workflow efficiency and production processes

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 – 8 years of experience in publishing or print production management.
  • Proven experience managing multiple publishing titles simultaneously.
  • Strong understanding of print production processes, prepress workflows, and digital publishing formats
  • Experience working with printers, binders, and external production vendors.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines.
  • Proficiency in production-related software and tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, workflow management systems)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in book, magazine, or educational publishing production
  • Knowledge of colour management, paper specifications, and finishing techniques
  • Familiarity with digital publishing platforms (e.g., eBooks, PDFs, Google Ad Manager)
  • Diploma or Degree in Publishing, Graphic Communications, Printing Technology, or a related field
