Job Purpose
The Project Supervisor is responsible for day-to-day on-site supervision and coordination of cleanroom/facilities construction works, ensuring that all activities are executed safely, on schedule, and in full compliance with cleanroom, EHS, and quality requirements. This role acts as the key interface between project engineers, site specific stakeholders, contractors, and operations, supporting cleanroom upgrades, conversions, and new installations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Site Supervision & Execution
- Supervise cleanroom construction and retrofit works including architectural, MEP, ACMV, FFU, exhaust, electrical, and utility systems.
- Coordinate daily site activities with main contractors and site-specific stakeholders to ensure planned works are executed according to approved drawings, method statements, and schedules.
- Monitor manpower deployment, work sequencing, and productivity to minimize impact to ongoing operations.
2. Cleanroom Compliance & Control
- Enforce strict adherence to cleanroom protocols, gowning requirements, material control, and housekeeping standards.
- Ensure works comply with applicable cleanroom classifications (e.g., ISO Class 10k / 100k) and contamination control requirements.
- Coordinate with project and operations teams during live tie-in works, shutdowns, and critical risk activities.
3. Safety, Health & Risk Management
- Enforce site EHS rules, including Permit-to-Work (PTW), Working at Height (WAH), hot works, lifting, and energy isolation.
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings, site walkdowns, and safety checks.
- Identify hazards early and escalate risks that may impact safety, quality, or schedule.
4. Quality & Documentation
- Verify works are executed in accordance with approved IFC drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Support inspections, testing, commissioning, and handover activities.
- Maintain accurate daily progress reports, site records, and issue logs.
5. Coordination & Communication
- Work closely with Project Engineers, Project Managers, Operations, and Vendors to resolve site issues promptly.
- Participate in site coordination meetings and provide clear updates on progress, constraints, and risks.
- Support authority inspections and internal audits where required.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, Facilities, or related field).
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of site supervision experience in cleanroom construction, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or high-tech manufacturing facilities.
- Hands-on experience with cleanroom build-up, upgrade, or conversion projects is mandatory.
- Familiarity with ISO cleanroom standards, ESD controls, and contamination management.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing in live cleanroom environments.
- Ability to manage multiple contractors and interfaces on site.
- Good knowledge of EHS requirements and PTW systems.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced, operationally sensitive environments
Preferred / Added Advantage
- WSQ Supervise Safe Work (SSW) or equivalent safety certification.
- Experience working in semiconductor fabs or advanced manufacturing plants.
- Familiarity with cleanroom certification, particle control, and environmental monitoring.
- Experience supporting authority submissions or inspections (e.g., SCDF, BCA).
Working Conditions
- Site-based role within cleanroom and facilities construction areas.
- May require shift work, weekend support, or off-hours execution during critical activities or shutdown windows
