Overview

A global energy and offshore engineering organisation is seeking a Commissioning Planner to support complex onshore and offshore projects. This role focuses on developing clear, effective, and execution-ready commissioning plans and schedules, supporting projects from early preparation through to commissioning and start-up.

The successful candidate will bring strong planning expertise, commissioning knowledge, and the ability to integrate construction, commissioning, and completion activities into a cohesive project schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop commissioning work breakdown structures, activities, and durations within the overall project schedule using system and sub-system definitions
  • Define system interdependencies and logical links within project schedules
  • Estimate and input commissioning man-hours into project schedules
  • Integrate construction milestones, commissioning sequences, and project completion targets into a master schedule
  • Plan and reflect manpower mobilisation requirements within the project schedule
  • Incorporate supplier and third-party commissioning service mobilisation plans into the schedule
  • Integrate integrity testing and related mobilisation activities into the project plan
  • Review and analyse project schedules and provide recommendations for improvement
  • Support offshore commissioning and start-up planning activities
  • Carry out assigned duties in line with reporting authority requirements
  • Contribute to a professional, organised, and collaborative working environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Engineering with approximately 5 to 9 years relevant experience
  • or
  • Engineering Diploma or Polytechnic qualification with approximately 8 to 12 years relevant experience
  • Minimum 6 years experience in onshore or offshore oil and gas or offshore production facilities

Experience and Skills

  • Strong experience planning commissioning activities across preparation and execution phases
  • Proven ability to estimate durations and manpower requirements for pre-commissioning and commissioning activities
  • Experience planning offshore commissioning and start-up activities
  • Solid understanding of completion and commissioning processes
  • Proficient in industry-standard project planning and scheduling tools
  • Strong general computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to take initiative and demonstrate leadership when required
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
