Role Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for driving initiatives that enhance warehouse operations through improved workflow efficiency, operational accuracy, and cost optimization. This role will lead projects focused on transitioning warehouse operations toward automation and intelligent systems, including the implementation of robotics, automated solutions, and AI-driven technologies.
The incumbent will play a key role in managing end-to-end projects that transform the warehouse into a more efficient, scalable, and data-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Execution
- Lead end-to-end execution of warehouse improvement and automation projects, from planning through implementation and post-go-live optimization.
- Define project scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and deliverables.
- Manage project risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure successful delivery.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including Operations, Engineering, IT, and external vendors.
Process Improvement & Operational Efficiency
- Analyze existing warehouse workflows and identify opportunities to improve productivity, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational performance and project success.
Warehouse Automation Initiatives
- Support the evaluation and implementation of warehouse automation technologies, including: Robotics solutions, Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS)Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) / Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs)
- Manage vendor engagement, solution design, testing, and deployment.
- Oversee pilot programs and support scaling of successful automation solutions.
AI & Data-Driven Optimization
- Collaborate with IT and data teams to implement AI-driven solutions within warehouse operations.
- Support initiatives in: Demand forecasting, Inventory optimization, Predictive maintenance
- Ensure alignment between business needs and technology implementations.
Systems Integration & Technology Collaboration
- Work closely with IT teams to ensure seamless integration between Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), ERP systems, and automation technologies.
- Support data flow and reporting requirements to enable real-time decision-making.
Change Management & Adoption
- Support change management efforts to ensure smooth adoption of new technologies and processes.
- Develop training plans and materials for warehouse teams.
- Promote a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and digital adoption.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of experience in project management, warehouse operations, or supply chain transformation.
- Proven experience managing cross-functional projects, preferably in automation or process improvement.
- Exposure to warehouse automation technologies or digital transformation initiatives is an advantage.
