AI Lead / AI Manager - Marine (Recruiting on behalf of client)

Our client is seeking an experienced AI Lead / AI Manager to build and lead AI capabilities within their Marine division. The incumbent will establish a dedicated AI team, oversee AI projects, and collaborate with the Group Engineering Centre, Business Analysts, and other Marine transformation verticals including Digitalization, Yard Transformation, Continuous Improvement, and Technology & Innovation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and oversee a small team of AI Engineers (2-3 members).

• Provide guidance on technical knowledge, project execution, problem-solving, and stakeholder communications.

• Engage and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to plan, execute, and deliver AI projects end-to-end.

• Design, develop, and deploy machine learning and deep learning models to solve complex business challenges.

• Monitor and maintain AI systems for optimal performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Collect, pre-process, and analyze large datasets to train and validate AI models.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams-including data scientists, software engineers, and business stakeholders-to integrate AI solutions into existing systems.

• Stay up-to-date with AI and machine learning advancements and implement best practices to enhance AI capabilities.

Knowledge & Skills

• Team management and leadership for small AI teams.

• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or Java.

• Experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.

• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI) is advantageous.

• Strong skills in machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.

• Data management and project management experience.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and under pressure.

Job Requirements

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

• Prior experience delivering AI/ML projects, preferably in a corporate setting.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.

• Leadership and ownership mindset, with strong interpersonal skills to manage internal and external stakeholders.
