Job Summary
Lead and manage mechanical and electrical (M&E) projects by coordinating resources, supervising site progress, and ensuring adherence to schedules. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and support contract administration, driving successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Develop detailed project plans and manage timelines to ensure on-schedule completion of M&E installation works
- Coordinate and supervise on-site project activities to monitor progress and maintain quality standards
- Requisition and allocate necessary resources including labor, materials, and equipment to meet project demands promptly
- Analyze deviations from installation schedules or main contractor master schedules and initiate corrective actions to mitigate delays
- Liaise with the Purchasing Section to track and ensure timely delivery of purchased items critical to project milestones
- Support the Department Manager in administering contracts, managing claims, handling variations, and resolving disputes to protect project interests
- Monitor accounts receivable related to projects in collaboration with the Department Manager to maintain financial control
Required competencies and certifications
- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing building construction projects involving Electrical and Extra Low Voltage services, Air-conditioning & Mechanical Ventilation services, or Fire Protection services
- Proficient in MS Office applications to prepare reports and communicate project status
- Skilled in project management software such as MS Project and/or Primavera to plan and track project progress
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) certification (advantageous for compliance and technical oversight)
- Construction Safety Course for Project Manager certification (advantageous for ensuring site safety compliance)
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with all levels of staff and stakeholders
