Job Summary
Lead and deliver construction projects by managing timelines, budgets, contracts, and teams to ensure quality, compliance, and stakeholder satisfaction in medium to large-scale projects.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage comprehensive project timelines and work schedules to meet defined milestones and key deadlines
- Coordinate project planning activities with architects, engineers, and consultants to align deliverables
- Prepare detailed project budgets and cost estimates, monitor expenses, and control costs to maintain financial targets
- Approve invoices, variations, and procurement requests to ensure accurate financial management
- Manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, including negotiation and resolution of contractual issues
- Communicate regularly with clients and stakeholders to provide updates and address concerns
- Lead and supervise site teams and contractors by assigning responsibilities and monitoring performance to ensure project progress
- Conduct regular site visits to verify work quality and adherence to schedules
- Ensure construction work complies with design specifications, quality standards, and safety, health, and environmental regulations
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans to minimize impact on timelines and budgets
- Resolve project delays, disputes, and emergencies promptly to maintain project continuity
- Prepare progress reports and performance updates using KPIs and reporting tools for senior management and clients
Required competencies and certifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field
- Knowledge of local construction regulations and building codes
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2)
