Job Description

This role will be based in Personal Systems Singapore Development Center, reporting into the Senior R&D Manager. As part of the HP Personal System Global R&D team, this center will focus on Personal Systems solutions and products development for sustaining.

Job Summary

This role is responsible for program managing to lead engineering teams in the design, development, and optimization of embedded software and firmware for hardware products. The role ensures the identification and resolution of software and firmware issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions. The role creates and updates technical documentation and maintain the process. The role stays up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends in embedded systems and firmware development.

Job Responsibilities:

1.Program managing to lead multiple project teams of other software engineers and firmware engineers inclusive of internal and outsourced development partners responsible for all stages of design and development for complex products and platforms for Sustaining.

2.Manages and expands relationships with internal and outsourced development partners on Software applications, firmware design and development.

3.Provides domain-specific expertise and overall software and firmware leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.

4.Specifies and documents workflows, engagement models and objectives in partnership with other WW Software and Firmware teams.

5.Collaborates with hardware engineers to ensure proper integration and communication between hardware and firmware components.

7.Communicate program progress, escalations, and issue analysis to key stakeholders and executives.

8.Identify areas of improvement in executing defined solutions and defines path-forward actions.

Qualifications:

1.Bachelor's, Master's or higher degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

2.Experience with X86 PC, Windows, software and firmware program management

3.Level of work experience will commensurate with job level assigned.

4.Evaluating forms and processes for software/firmware testing and methodology, including writing and execution of test plans, debugging, and testing scripts and tools.

5.Experience in CI/CD and Agile or other equivalent modern development method.

6.Experience in overall architecture of software/firmware and interaction with hardware/software/OS designs for products and solutions.

7.Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.

8.Ability to effectively communicate program plans, proposals, and results, and negotiate options at senior management levels.
