Project Manager (Grade 7 / 8 Licensed Electrical Worker)
We are seeking an experienced Grade 7 or Grade 8 Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) to take
on a dual role as Project Manager in our solar PV installation team. The candidate will hold
senior-level authority to oversee and endorse electrical works, ensure regulatory compliance,
and lead full-cycle solar installation projects from design to commissioning.
This role is critical to ensuring all solar PV systems are engineered, installed, and energized
safely and in compliance with EMA and SP Group requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- LEW Responsibilities (Grade 7/8)
- Perform, supervise, and sign off on all electrical works under the scope of a Grade 7/8 LEW license
- Endorse and certify electrical design schematics, SLDs, and system calculations for solar PV installations.
- Conduct and sign off on testing, commissioning, and energisation of solar systems.
- Submit, review, and approve documentation for SP submissions (e.g., EOI, EIC, connection approval).
- Ensure all electrical works comply with EMA regulation, SP Group technical requirements, Singapore Standards and Codes of Practice
- Lead electrical troubleshooting and rectification for solar systems.
- Advise management on electrical risk mitigation and system design improvements.
Project Management Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage full project lifecycle from planning, procurement, installation, to final handover.
- Prepare project schedules, method statements, risk assessments, JHAs, and other technical documents.
- Coordinate closely with clients, consultants, suppliers, subcontractors, and SP Group.
- Oversee site activities, manpower planning, and workflow sequencing.
- Conduct site inspections and ensure all works meet quality and safety standards.
- Manage project budgets, track costs, and ensure timely completion of milestones.
- Provide weekly progress updates and status reports to stakeholders.
Mandatory requirements:
- Valid Grade 7 or Grade 8 Licensed Electrical Worker (LEW) license.
- Strong understanding of solar PV system design, installation, testing, and commissioning.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in solar or M&E projects.
- Strong knowledge of SP/EMA submission processes and compliance frameworks.
- Ability to read electrical drawings, load calculations, and layout plans.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Able to conduct site work and lead technical teams.
Preferred
- Experience handling commercial or industrial solar PV projects.
- Familiarity with PVsyst, Helioscope, AutoCAD, or similar design tools.
- WSQ safety certifications (Work at Height, Lifting Supervisor, Safety Coordinator) are an advantage.
- Class 3 driving license
