Project Governance Manager (12 Months Contract)

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Change Control Manager to oversee and manage the end-to-end change control process across BAU and project environments.
This role plays a critical governance function by ensuring all proposed changes are properly evaluated, approved, documented, and implemented in alignment with organizational standards, scope, schedule, cost, and quality objectives.
The incumbent will act as the liaison between BAU/Project teams, stakeholders, and the Change Control Board (CCB), ensuring transparency, compliance, and structured delivery within a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Change Control and Governance Management
- Establish and maintain formal change control processes across assigned BAU or projects
- Manage the full change request lifecycle (initiation, impact assessment, approval, implementation, closure)
- Coordinate and facilitate Change Control Board (CCB) meetings
- Ensure all changes are evaluated against scope, cost, schedule, quality, and risk impact
- Maintain change registers and ensure audit traceability
- Provide governance reporting and KPIs to senior management
Project and Delivery Oversight
- Lead and run projects using structured PMP-based frameworks
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, reporting standards, and regulatory requirements
- Oversee end-to-end project management and delivery execution
- Support budgeting, tracking, and reporting (Excel proficiency required)
- Work closely with IT and Business stakeholders
Stakeholder and Cross-Functional Coordination
- Engage and manage senior stakeholders, including C-suite executives
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Technical Leads, Business Analysts, Risk and Configuration teams
- Communicate approved changes and implementation plans clearly
- Prepare CCB agendas, minutes, and decision logs
Continuous Improvement
- Identify process improvement opportunities in change governance
- Conduct training or workshops on change control principles
- Incorporate lessons learned into future governance frameworks
Requirements- Minimum 68 years of project management experience
- Experience within Financial Institutions, IT, or Professional Services
- Strong understanding of governance and compliance frameworks
- Experience operating in structured, process-driven environments
- Proven exposure to senior stakeholders or C-suite management
- Strong Excel skills
- Comfortable bridging IT and Business domains
Good to Have- PMP, PRINCE2, or CAPM certification
- Experience transitioning from IT projects into business-led initiatives
- Familiarity with ISO, ITIL, or PMI standards
- Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, or MS Project
Education and Competencies- Bachelor's degree in Project Management, IT, or related discipline
- Strong documentation discipline and governance mindset
- Organised and methodical thinker with the ability to prioritise under pressure
- Strong collaboration and cross-functional leadership capability
- Meticulous with follow-through on action plans and documentation
